Job Summary:

Coordinates activities of personnel engaged in performing visual and physical tests required for Quality Control of processes and products by performing the job duties. Arrive on time daily; perform job safely, productively and quality oriented; perform job effectively and efficiently; perform all aspects of job safely; exhibit team work; learn the job requirements based on company expectations; follow company policies and procedures .

Job Responsibility & Duties

• Ensure that methodologies for quality assurance meet or exceed customer specifications
• Ensure that protocols established are consistent with manufacturing expectations
• Ensure that quality protocols result in six sigma level quality outcomes
• Follow scrap protocol
• Carries out duties with company oriented, results driven behavior
• Mentor, coach, and advise quality personnel in the performance of the various job duties that are performed with the collection of samples and classification of visual defects which are noted.
• Compile data and audit on products returned by customers. Search for root cause and possible corrective actions.
• Confers with product development or engineers to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
• Arrange and give guidance to personnel who perform special tests.
• Test and analyze sample products.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet testing schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve testing procedures and use of equipment.
• Schedule re-work assignments consistent with manufacturing requirements
• Analyze and resolve, or assist workers in solving work problems.
• Compile customer Certificates of Conformance / Certificates of Analysis
• Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Good interpersonal skills

• Ability to understand control charts for reporting purposes.
• Strong computer skills and understanding of various data bases.
• Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Possess basic SPC skills
• Must have basic math skills
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, and analysis. Ability to understand and use SPC for root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data to reach correct conclusion based on the data. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Manage laboratory work flow for greatest efficiency.
• Respond promptly to customer needs.
• Develop and implements cost saving measures.
• Delegate work assignments
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

Education/Experience

At least three years of experience in Quality with demonstrated skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

B level Quality Technician and/or a Certified Quality Technician is desired.
