Quality Control Lab Technician

Description: The QC Lab Tech will carry out all Quality Control testing in the laboratory to ensure the company’s products are in compliance with established specifications.

Essential Duties:

- Gas Chromatography

- Liquid Chromatography

- UV-Visible Spectrophotometer

- Infra-red Spectrophotometer

- pH analysis

- Karl Fischer Water Determination

- FTIR

- Residue after evaporation testing

- Fluorescents testing

- Optical absorption

• Utilize analytical techniques and instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography( GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Spectroscopy (IR and UV) to analyze samples
• Utilize wet chemistry methods to analyze samples
• Review, interpret and summarize data
• Record analytical results utilizing good documentation practices
• Communicate effectively within the QC team and with cross-functional teams
• Set up daily standards, daily KF calibrations and special purpose laboratory equipment to test products
• Plan a sequence for testing of incoming samples
• Play an active role in the quality management team within the organization
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, with chemistry experience from school would also qualify)
• 6+ months of chemistry lab experience strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail, able to follow procedures and test methods
• Need to be comfortable working often on their own
