Job Description
Description: The QC Lab Tech will carry out all Quality Control testing in the laboratory to ensure the company’s products are in compliance with established specifications.
Essential Duties:
- Gas Chromatography
- Liquid Chromatography
- UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
- Infra-red Spectrophotometer
- pH analysis
- Karl Fischer Water Determination
- FTIR
- Residue after evaporation testing
- Fluorescents testing
- Optical absorption
- Utilize analytical techniques and instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography( GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Spectroscopy (IR and UV) to analyze samples
- Utilize wet chemistry methods to analyze samples
- Review, interpret and summarize data
- Record analytical results utilizing good documentation practices
- Communicate effectively within the QC team and with cross-functional teams
- Set up daily standards, daily KF calibrations and special purpose laboratory equipment to test products
- Plan a sequence for testing of incoming samples
- Play an active role in the quality management team within the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, with chemistry experience from school would also qualify)
- 6+ months of chemistry lab experience strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, able to follow procedures and test methods
- Need to be comfortable working often on their own
