Looking to hire an EXPERIENCED & CERTIFIED Quality Control Asphalt Lab TechnicianLevel 2 or 3
Main responsibilities will be conducticting tests on asphalt to determine proper gradation and AC content. Creating asphalt mix designs. Working collaboratively in and around asphalt plants to obtain samples from various sources, including stockpiles, conveyors and asphalt trucks. Field density testing may also be required.
A Level 3 Certification is highly recommended but not required.
Requirements:
- Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to obtain ODOT testing certifications.
- Ability to perform basic math and algebra functions such as calculating surface volumes, weights, variables and formulas.
- Knowledge of various computer applications and software including MS Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Collects samples of crushed stone, aggregate, sand and gravel from stockpiles and tests for conformance to specifications.
- Selects road construction samples at specified stages and runs tests.
- Records results of samples using equipment such as ovens and molds to perform calculations to measure air voids, gradations and densities.
- Records test data applying Quality Control procedures.
- Evaluates data and makes adjustments to materials.
- Performs other tasks as needed.
- Complies with Company Safety Program.
