Quality Control Lab Supervisor

We are currently hiring for a Quality Control Lab Supervisor. This role supervises, organizes, directs and measures all activities within the lab department to achieve the highest levels of safety, service, quality, and productivity.
The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or related science field is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience using various laboratory equipment and aseptic sampling techniques, BAM or USP Microbiological testing methodologies, preferably in a cosmetics or pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/leadership experience required, preferable in a Quality Control Lab environment.

This position is responsible for:

• Leads, assigns and manages the day to day activities of the Quality Control Lab department to ensure optimal results in safety, quality, productivity and cost.
• Trains, coaches and develops employees within the department to ensure performance expectations and department objectives are met according to established standards; manages performance expectations and delivers feedback.
• Identifies, leads, and drives opportunities around equipment and/or methods to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), LEAN Lab principles and quality requirements.
• Controls operational costs, including but not limited to standard labor costs, inventory costs, scrap rates and equipment downtime, to ensure the production department operates within the set budget.
• Coordinates with other departments on planning and scheduling lab coverage, preventative maintenance, and other related activities.
• Conducts and reviews investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) materials and non-conformities to assure that root cause has been identified and appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented. Participates in investigations and leads when appropriate.
• Coordinates and participates in root cause analysis on OEE shortfalls. Develops and executes corrective actions that improve lab performance, cost, quality, and customer service.
• Develops policies and procedures that ensure proper accountability and assists in developing long-term plans for the quality organization.
