Job Description
At Shredfast, Inc. the Quality Control Inspector is a position within the Quality Control Department. QC is a final stage ‘key’ department as part of the Shredfast manufacturing production line. This stage involves testing units and determining if they are within the specifications for the final product and identifying if corrective action is needed upstream in the manufacturing process. The flow of documents from QC to the Accounts Receivable department truck files ensures completed truck files are recorded and accessible to accounting, sales & service. Attention to quality and detail are key attributes for this position.
Duties and responsibilities
- Inspect in detail mechanical, electrical and hydraulic functions of our manufactured products and document on QC paperwork, report products for defects and any deviations from specifications.
- Reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Cross-reference department lead's Quality Control paperwork and ensure that it's documented properly, discuss results and findings of the products with department lead, and recommend any required corrective actions.
- Work constructively and effectively with the various department Leads, Accounts Receivables, Sales, Service and Reception
- Use good communication & organizational skills, be an adaptable learner, maintain a tidy work environment
- Perform paper shredding tests on our manufactured shredding vehicles to ensure they meet company guidelines
- Install chassis placards, final clean & wipe down in preparing equipment for transport
- Stage final product on company premises for driver pickup
- Occasionally drive test vehicles on a test route to replicate real-world environments (for those candidates 25 years or older)
- Must be thorough in following procedure
- Mechanical background and have worked with 12V electronics and hydraulics
- Familiar with general mechanical equipment and have a basic understanding of operating functions
- Experience in the safe use of hand or power tools such as drills, caulk gun or air gun
- Quality, accuracy, and the ability to work within a scheduled paced environment
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- A clean driving record with a valid driver’s license
- All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen & background check
- Class B drivers license preferred
- Ability to work alone, unsupervised yet finish tasks on time
