Overview:
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Inspector III is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
- Possess working knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments, gages, and hand tools.
- Manage receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
- Verify first article pieces.
- Verify documentation and identification generated or related to production of the job.
- Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Responsible for maintaining applicable regulatory and professional standards.
- Must be able to perform programming and operate CMM.
- Complete FAI report and other documentation for final inspection.
- Complete and verify production documentation to ensure its completed and met desired requirements.
- Ensures manufactured products meet requirements using tools such as software, tensile testing, blue light, and other automated tools.
- Should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
The Quality Control Inspector III must at a minimum possess the following:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Technical school graduate with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong ability to work independently.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment related to Quality Control inspections.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Intermediate understanding of systems, processes, and tools to perform job duties effectively.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Ability to perform basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to liaise professionally with team members and system users.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with moderate supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Cognitive skills include the ability to learn, to process thoughts and apply knowledge, to analyze and reason, and to evaluate and make appropriate decisions to achieve business goals and solve problems.
Preferred Skills
Previous experience (Three (3) plus years) as an Inspector in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Experience with Tensile testing.
Experience using Blue light scanners.
Physical Requirements:
The Quality Control Inspector III must be able to:
- Operate basic office machines, such as a computer, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.
- Lift a minimum of 25-50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
- Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
- Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
- Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-10 hours a day.
