Job Description
Sandy Alexander has a full-time job opening for a Quality Control analyst. We are a brand experience company on a mission to help our partners create new levels of real-life consumer connection. Commercial Print – Direct Mail – Wide Format – Visual Experience – Fulfillment – Technology. We are a deadline-oriented industry so you must be able to work under tight deadlines. It is an active shop with a team approach to production. Be ready to assist wherever help is needed.
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for visual and dimensional inspections on blueprints and press sheets in both the prepress and press department. This individual will have the skill set to efficiently utilize advanced features in the Adobe Suite as well as other creative solutions to process work quickly and accurately in a high-volume assembly environment. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with minor supervision. A strong eye for detail is needed and the confidence to operate and maintain printing equipment, including prepress, press, and finishing machinery is a must.
Responsibilities:
➢ Measure dimensions of press sheets against layout to ensure the standard is met
➢ Approve jobs done by pre-press operators and work alongside them to correct any errors found.
➢ Approve press sheets by following Sandy's standard procedures
➢ Assembly of physical books using press sheets to ensure it met client orders
➢ Communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
➢ Approve finished products by confirming specifications, and conducting visual and physical measurements of the product at the finished binding location (will be required to travel)
➢ Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into a quality database
➢ Always verify equipment is operational and calibrated, follow operating instructions, and coordinate repairs
➢ Work on high-speed printing equipment to prepare proofs and assist with pre-press operators.
➢ Perform color management and ensure accurate color reproduction
➢ Collaborate with production and prepress team to create efficiently spaced layouts
➢ Organize the finished press job bag for production and bindery usage
➢ Conduct Quality Control checks to ensure print accuracy and consistency consistently
➢ Operate and maintain printing equipment in both the pre-press and press department
➢ Review text, graphics, and layout against printed materials before their production with a very keen eye for detail.
➢ Help in resolving any technical issues that may arise during the printing process
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
