Industrial Painter

Senior level position that sandblasts, cleans and paints compressors and all other equipment as directed with limited supervision. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·       Operates cleaning equipment and prepares equipment for painting

·       Ability to mix all types of paint systems and applies these to customer and company specifications

·       Operate sandblast equipment to customer and company specifications

·       Masks and feathers old paint in preparation for new paint.  Must have knowledge of required tools and maintenance care

·       Completes all paint compliance logs

·       Completes Dry Film Thickness (DFT) readings, Psychrometer readings and Surface Temperature readings

·       Follows all relevant HSSE guidelines

·       Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude

·       Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department

·       Troubleshoot and provide solution to manufacturing issues

·       Verify paint thickness and blast anchor patterns

·       Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.

·       Requires frequent operation of heavy equipment such as forklift and scissor lift

·       Participate in continuous improvement activities

·       Participates in group discussions and meetings

·       Maintains equipment and clean work area

Preferred Education

·       High school diploma

Required Experience & Skills

·       5 years related experience

·       Troubleshooting and providing technical recommendations

·       Ability to communicate in English

Required Training & Certifications

·       Certified to drive a forklift

Physical Demands

·       Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time

·       Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time

·       Requires employee to constantly inspect and paint equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.

·       Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices

·       Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

·       Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility

·       Requires work on loud environment

·       Requires moving and maintaining self constantly in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

·       Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, fall protection as applicable.
