The hours are: 7pm-1am or 1am-7am on Monday, OFF Tuesday 12 hours shift Wednesday, and then Thursday and Friday or Saturday Sunday 12hr shift – 7pm – 7am. Weekends required (alternating shift, switches each week.)
Overview:
The Quality Technician ensures the integrity of raw materials, processing and finished product. The Quality Technician understands what a defect could be and inspects the materials and cans for any and all defects. The Technician inspects and tests cans and materials throughout the production process. The Technician uses equipment to perform tests demanded by customers, DOT and EU requirements. Documents all test results and performs retests when needed. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies by strict adherence to schedule and other testing criteria. Technician places suspect material on hold (HFI) by directing fork lift drivers to isolate the product or materials. Technician communicates with production personnel about any quality issues.
Essential Functions (Duties):
- Performs inspection on raw material and finished cans.
- Documents any issues with materials and seeks resolution to those issues.
- Communicates issues to production personnel, managers and Quality Administrator.
- Seeks assistance from production personnel to contain suspect or rejected product.
- Chooses random samples from the production lines.
- Uses test equipment to verify buckle, burst, and minimum flow parameters meet standards.
- Uses test equipment to verify metal exposure parameters meet standards.
- Marks items being held for inspection.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follows through and completes all work in a timely manner.
- Communicates need for and helps maintain appropriate levels of needed supplies.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local and customer guidelines.
- Works efficiently and safely within company guidelines.
- Maintains peer relationships to share issues and ideas.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent.
Experience: Previous inspection experience preferred.

Employees in all production positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement or approach of equipment (including forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks and other equipment operated inside or outside the facility), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situation during production operations.
