Pay starts at $16.25 per hour plus shift differential
1st: 7:00AM- End of Shift (Sunday- Thursday)
3rd: 7:00PM- End of Shift (Sunday- Thursday)
Summary: The Quality Control Associate performs Quality Control (QC) functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying miss picks and misplaced cases. Quality Control Associate will also work with selectors to correct all errors and rebuild pallets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy of selected orders.
- Complete required level of QC sampling, and required load audit forms.
- Consult with appropriate Supervisor regarding any problems identified in the QC process including quality issues not meeting standards and/or potential safety issues.
- Ability to coach selectors on job quality and efficiency.
- Other duties and special projects as requested.
- Must maintain good attendance.
- Maintain safe work practices.
- Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean work environment, which may include picking up trash or cleaning spills.
- Other duties may be assigned to fulfill DPI’s objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must be proficient in basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Freight packing experience is preferred. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred. Employees must be able to be certified for PIT operation by DPI.
Work Environment: The work environment is indoors. The floors may be concrete. Moderate noise levels occur in the warehouse with powered industrial truck horns operating for safety.
Work Hours: The work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.
Physical and Mental Demands: Medium to heavy, with occasional exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. On an infrequent basis, the employee lifts to 55 pounds of bulk product. This may not occur daily. This job also requires constant standing and walking. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols; know and follow DPI grooming, hygiene, and dress code standards; know and apply principles of truck weight distribution, product loads and spatial relations to effectively and safely stage products for loading; perform basic mathematic functions to calculate load staging.
