Job description

Anderson Health Services (AHS) offers Mental and Behavioral Health programs to provide 24/7 emotional support to youth with a history of complex trauma. From Emergency Placement to Psychiatric Residential Treatment, AHS adheres to an evidence based best practice trauma informed approach in meeting the individual therapeutic needs of each youth. The AHS campus provides a safe environment promoting exploration, understanding, and learning fostering growth and development while leading to recovery. The success of the youth is the driving principle, fundamental building block, and purpose of AHS programs.
Anderson Health Services is seeking a Quality Specialist for its facility. The position is assisting programs in maintaining compliance with internal and external standards as well as supporting Continuous Quality Improvement efforts for the organization.

QUALITY SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through your actions, attitude, and communication
  • Display trauma informed practices and principles in your interactions with customers, with peers and with leadership
  • Ensure compliance with CARF standards and preparation for CARF surveys to assist the organization in maintaining accreditation status.
  • Assist with organization-wide policy and procedure updates and distribution
  • Development of Performance & Quality Improvement forms for communication across departments.
  • Develop rapport with stakeholders and assist the Quality Director of Performance & Quality Improvement regarding correspondences, collaboration, tracking and follow up on compliance concerns.
  • Monitoring, oversight and support are provided by conducting audits, conducting follow up and ensuring follow through on internal and external audits and plans of corrections.
  • Monitoring of safety & quality, staff-supervision, documentation and training effectiveness. Ensuring that agency, state and federal Guidelines are upheld.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, or other related field is required for this position.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of Medicaid standards, NC Managed Care, Continuous Quality Improvement, and regulatory compliance required.
  • Experience with conducting investigations of grievances and knowledge of CARF accreditation standards preferred.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • This position is sedentary and will require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. It may also require physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, or bending. In the event of an emergency, the incumbent must have the ability to extricate themselves and clients safely.
