Quality Assurance Specialist - Railcar Repair
Baton Rouge, LA Area

PSC Group is now hiring for a Quality Assurance Specialist join our team at in the Baton Rouge area! You would be responsible for assisting the QA Manager in lead and maintaining our Quality Assurance program for Railcar Repair. You will monitor analyze the processes, and implement actions necessary to ensure we are meeting & exceeding the standards! If your expertise is in Quality Assurance, this opportunity is for YOU!
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintains processes in accordance with the PSC Quality System and Procedures, Association of American Railroads ("AAR"), Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices (MSRP), Specifications for Quality, and related AAR rules and technical standards.
  • Conducts NDT Level II Training Classes and administer examinations for the methods of DI, UT-T, MT, PT, VT, and LT.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance facility audits and certification events.
  • Reviews procedures, evaluating RCR facilities for compliance to QA System, evaluate work performance, generate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Ensure RCR facilities follow and adhere to PSC maintenance standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure site personnel are compliant with regulations set forth by PSC, FRA, DOT, and AAR
  • Ensures implementation and management of the Quality Assurance Program at the location level.
  • Assess and makes recommendations for improvement of in-process inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with QA program.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance activities as outlined by the Quality Management System are followed.
  • Conducts and/or oversees facility needs analysis and evaluation analysis. Conducts training sessions with Site Leaders and RC Repairmen to improve results of work processes and work plans.
  • Responsible for creating, reviewing and analyzing reports for nonconformance data with a focus for continuous improvement.
  • Provides oversight of Railcar Repair personnel and facilities, ensuring all Quality System goals are met; promotes and supports team culture.
  • Participates in increasing department efficiency and development efforts by identifying and implementing continuous improvement process.
  • Discretionary ability to evaluate, recommend and implement needed operational and procedure changes to maximize efforts of RCR workforce.
  • Evaluates personnel ability to operate specific equipment and perform specified duties of RCR Technicians.
  • Travel up to 30%
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations and practices (FRA, DOT, AAR, ANSI etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Nondestructive Testing certification or equivalent experience as an NDT technician is a plus
  • Experience in QA in a manufacturing or railcar industry is a plus

Required Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
