Job description

Influence and ensure overall success of Quality Assurance (QA) function within the Office of Animal Care. Develop, support, maintain, and lead all aspects of QA as needed, with a primarily focus on internal audits/inspections, OAC staff training, microbial monitoring, environmental monitoring, safety program and SOP review process. Drive continuous improvement within the site in alignment with IACUC, IBC, and EHS. The QA Specialist is to be forward thinking, creative, and assist in adherence of Animal Care and use program regulatory compliance.


This position is for a specialist to peform the day to day needs required to operate a successful, safe and compliant A/BSL-3 research facility. The A/BSL-3 facility is transitioning to a core facility under Shared Research Resources.


Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Animal Science or a related field.
  • Four years of laboratory animal experience.
  • One year of QA experience directly in the lab animal field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and guidelines pertaining to Animal Care and use in a research setting.


Required Credentials:

  • N/A.


Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Animal Science or a related field.
  • IACUC and/or post approval monitoring experience.
  • Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
  • Experience in training.

$33.41 - $50.11 /hr
$69,492.80 - $104,228.80 /yr

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.


This compensation range is specific to Seattle, positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors.
