IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Quality Assurance Analyst to support HHS.

Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access HHS systems and therein use approved HHS provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst position will be responsible for ensuring that supported software products, associated documentation, work products, activities, and processes conform to established government and Health Information Technology standards. This position requires integrating established standards, proposing process enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Quality Assurance framework, and providing a range of services, including process improvements, corrective action planning, change request processing, and status reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring software quality, compliance, and successful project delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. It encompasses both QA and QC responsibilities contributing to the production of high-quality software products and documentation.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle for software development with emphasis on analysis of project requirements, software build deployment, Alpha/Beta coordination, release management, and SQA server maintenance in accordance with vigorous SOPs set forth by IHS.
  • Coordinate, monitor, track, report, and support multiple projects through User Acceptance (Alpha/Beta) Testing.
  • Review software products and documentation for correctness, adherence to the user requirements and government standards and conventions.
  • Conduct testing by installing software, analyzing, and verifying test cases/scripts, and reporting issues to project teams to ensure that software functions as expected based on requirements set by users and established SOPs.
  • Provide test execution, results, defects, and related testing metrics for deployment iterations.
  • Provide status of software verification results to project teams and associated stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with developers/project team to ensure that issues are rectified in a timely manner.
  • Participate in deploying / installing software in multiple Windows and UNIX (AIX) environments and technologies (e.g., GUI; Web-based Applications; .NET; Tomcat; Java; cache.dat)
  • Analyze, develop, and execute manual Test Cases; maintain Test Plans and Test Suites.
  • Verify defects (findings) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality software.
  • Participate in writing, implementing, and reporting on improvements to Quality Assurance testing processes for systems and applications.
  • Support implementation of the new strategies to improve testing efficiency and productivity, with a positive outlook to adapt to changes.
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an IHS Public Trust security clearance.
  • Minimum BS/BA degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as QA Analyst, Test Engineer, UAT Coordinator or similar role(s).
  • Experience with performing, coordinating, and managing release and build deployment related tasks.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience with various aspects of system support processes, such as testing cycles, release management, change management, and software implementation.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with project teams, PMO, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with IHS stakeholders by listening, understanding, and responding, and adhering to their business needs.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize projects, assignments, and tasks, while making sure to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with weekly, Monthly, ad-hoc status reporting to Team Lead and/or upper management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile/Sprint methodologies
  • Must be a self-motivator with ability to complete task assignments with little direction.
  • Experience in software testing, reviewing associated documentation, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience with basic System Administration and troubleshooting in?Windows, VMware, and UNIX (AIX) environments.
  • Ability to use computer and networking skills to configure and maintain test environments.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer networking components.
  • Experience working with integrated hardware, software, and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, testing/validation methodologies, and release management concepts.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to review and edit technical and software related documentation.
  • Ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation and from on-the-job training.
  • Ability to thoroughly investigate technical issues both analytically and hands-on troubleshooting in Windows and/or UNIX (AIX) Environments.
  • Experience and working knowledge of the following tools, technology, and concepts is a highly desired:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • Previous experience as a Test Engineer, QA Analyst or UAT coordinator in a government setting preferred (VA, IHS, DoD, or military branch)
  • Experience with EHR, Cerner or other similar system in healthcare domain.
  • Experience with Intersystem Cache/Ensemble/HealthShare is a PLUS
  • Experience in testing and/or developing and/or deploying MUMPS, VistA Code and Legacy Systems is a PLUS.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge in database management
  • Experience with EPLC methodology is a huge PLUS.
  • Experience with implementing automated test tools and process improvement guidelines is a PLUS.
  • Strategies to work remotely as part of a team, or independently with little supervision or direction.
  • Contractors may be required to travel 5% in support of this contract.

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
