Job Description Summary:  Reporting to the IT PMO Manager, the Senior QA Analyst is responsible for developing and establishing Quality Assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization. This individual will also gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. The QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and critical thinking skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. Also, this role expects to lead small-medium-size projects (Waterfall and Agile).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing Use Cases, Test Cases, and Test Scripts
  • Manual and automation testing.
  • Perform functional testing of web services using SOAPUI and RESTful web services. Add assertions to validate the XML or WSDL file.
  • Selenium automation and API testing or experience with other similar products and configuration management tools like GitHub repository.
  • Experience with JIRA or Rally.
  • Lead small-medium size projects (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Leading QA teams and Performing QA tasks (individual contributor)
  • Prepare project-related status reporting, coordinate all release planning, and lead the testing team through all project phases.
  • Business and Requirements Analysis
  • Vendor management, SOW review, Project Planning and Execution
  • Comfortable with coordinating with Business and IT leadership

 

Basic Qualifications/Technical Skills: 

  • 15 years of IT QA experience ideally with development and management background
  • College diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years’ direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Quality Assurance standards for software testing.
  • 5 years’ direct experience as a lead tester for major application integration and/or major application product release.
  • 2 years of direct experience in leading small projects
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • Extensive experience with core software applications, including Microsoft.Net, Java, PHP/MySQL web and client/server applications.
  • Experience with ad hoc query programs (Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle required, MySQL a plus), automated testing tools, and reporting software.
  • Experience in Mobile applications testing using Appium tool and Perfecto mobile software for IOS and ANDROID platforms).
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent PC skills
  • Experience in developing scripts to support Jenkins (Continuous Integration) of scripts with build server.
  • Experience in performing Database Testing with SQL and automated Data Validations using JDBC.
  • Experience with Log4j and its components such as Loggers to log information.
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Good Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent listening, presentation, people skills, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and pay attention to details.
  • Working in the Water Utilities industry will be a huge plus.
