We are looking for a Quality Assurance Professional who has experience working in or around mining project sites.
The Quality Manager will be accountable for supporting the project team to ensure conformance with the project work plans produced for the construction phase of the project. They will work closely with the project engineer and will report to the project manager. The Quality Manager will carry out periodic audits on the project, advise project personnel of execution improvements, issue non-conformances and work with the team to maintain compliance with project procedures.
Responsibilities
Pre-Construction:
• Prepare the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
• Provide input to the Construction Management Plan (CMP)
• Provide input to any other Work Plans required for the construction phase
• Ensure on-boarding records are maintained
• Participate in the pre-construction training and orientation of project field personnel
• Assist in planning and organizing Construction Contractor reporting and performance tracking
During Construction:
• Conduct activities in accordance with all required corporate QMS requirements, ISO 9001, project specific, and customer requirements.
• Act as a quality representative for the project to assist project teams with implementation of the QMS at the project level
• Assist with maintenance of the QMS by recommending improvements to project work processes, procedures on observed evidence, and best practice research
• Develop project specific process flow charts if necessary to align project requirements with the corporate QMS
• Review and approve all construction documentation and procedures to the required specifications, contract documents, and regulatory codes. This includes but is not limited to WPS, ITPs specific to the project with enough detail to ensure compliance to all the above, work procedures, and process established at the site level to ensure compliance
• Attend routine project meetings to review emerging issues and proactively resolve them
• Conduct internal and supplier quality audits and prepare reports as well, support Supply Chain Management Quality Specialists.
• Review all controlling documents (i.e. Owner's specifications, CSA, ASME, Federal, and Jurisdictional codes and regulations) and ensure the site activities conform
• Facilitate client quality audits
• Resolve non-conformances or client complaints including root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective action
• Provide quality updates for the project progress reports
• Provide training to project personnel on QMS fundamentals or as necessary based on quality audits/trends
• Continually monitor the fabrication, erection, assembly, and testing of mechanical components and their proper documentation
• Audit the completed Quality Control package for each system
• Issue, track, and ensure effective actions to all NCRs, CARs, and OFIs
• Complete and submit reports on site work and on inspected activities
• Keep weekly records of construction activities and keep the Construction manager informed of the same
• Coordinate and manage the on-site walk downs necessary to identify deficiencies in Systems with client and client operations
• Enforce the specified quality control procedures for Construction Contractor handled and stored material
Post-Construction:
• Provide input to close-out report and lessons learned report
• Ensure and Verify turnover packages meets project requirements
• Complete QA Final project acceptance including final review of all construction turnover documents and validate prior to shipping to the client. Placing all documents in the final turnover for both hard and electronic version of the whole project
• Participate in an end of project review with engineering, procurement and operations to ensure future projects are executed smoothly, and provide recommendations for improvement on an ongoing basis
• Assist in claims resolution
• Coordinate data collection and provide report to Owner
• Provide post construction evaluation and lessons learned document
