How
you'll have an impact at Paula's Choice:

As the Quality Assurance Manager, IT at Paula's Choice Skincare, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, all focused on ensuring the highest level of software quality. The role will work with our IT leadership, architecture, and development teams to innovate, develop and maintain the standards and patterns of our PC Platform, most notably our Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), NetSuite OneWorld, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and Shopify code bases with local integrations.

As a Software QA Manager, a typical day might include a mix of the following:

  • Define and execute the Quality Assurance strategy in close partnership with our Executive Team, Backend, Frontend Development teams and Program Management.
  • Lead efforts to enhance testing efficiency by implementing automated testing as the cornerstone of our scheduled routine test passes.
  • Apply your extensive experience with testing tools and techniques to effectively address the testing needs of both frontend and backend development.

Test Planning and Guidance:

  • Write comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases and provide guidance to the QA team in adhering to them.
  • Demonstrate your ability to debug, read, and comprehend feature code, enabling you to assess quality risks and testing effort during bug investigation and resolution.
  • Act as an advocate for active involvement in production support activities following feature releases. Use these experiences to drive improvements in Quality Engineering.
  • Champion the transition of Quality Assurance into a Quality Engineering mindset. Encourage bug analysis as a learning opportunity to enhance timely bug detection and improve quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks to enhance the testing process, particularly during development branch merging and feature code deployment.
  • Create meticulously detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans. Effectively estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

Business Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with business representatives to gain a deep understanding of their needs and challenges. Establish quality goals and align testing efforts to meet these objectives.
  • Provide guidance to the QA team in conducting thorough bug root cause analysis. Utilize these insights to develop improved testing approaches and techniques.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing efforts with Business customers and Program Managers. Communicate business risks and mitigation plans based on the outcomes of testing.
  • Work with our external vendors on shared projects to maintain the same level of quality standards to deliver complete solutions.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Offer technical and strategic leadership to SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) team members.
  • Mentor and coach your team to continually enhance their skills and professional results.
  • Maintain seamless collaboration with developers, quality engineers, and program management to ensure the successful execution of test plans and adherence to project timelines.

  • Physical requirements: Ability to handle both sitting and screen time for long periods of time
  • Travel requirements: Less than 5%

Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:

$135,000 - $165,000 USD/annually


Paula's Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
