Description
Position Title: Clinical Quality& Compliance Manager
Reports to: Sr. Director of Clinical Operations
Type: Full-Time, salaried exempt
Location: Seattle, WA & Hybrid
Pay Rate: $64,000-$68,250 per year depending on qualifications
Union Representation: Non-Union Representation
Crisis Connections provides a variety of telephone-based support services that are free and easily accessible to anyone in our community experiencing crisis. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the oversight of the Sr. Director of Clinical Operations, the Manager of Clinical Quality Assurance & Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory, contract and accreditation compliance. This position is responsible for ensuring that clinical programs and services adhere to applicable laws and regulations, as well as the administrative maintenance of all the organization's policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Stays current on Federal, state, and local mental health regulations and standards including SAMHSA best practices, HIPAA, Federal and state Medicaid guidelines, Washington Administrative Code, and King County Provider Manual guidelines.
  • Monitors and ensures the agency's compliance to International Council of Helplines (ICH) and other accreditation standards.
  • Ensures that all clinical activities, policies, and procedures comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and policies.
  • Understands requirements of all government contracts and ensures processes are in place so that Crisis Connections stays in compliance with funders.
  • Manages external audits and compliance assessments and collaborates with government funders and regulatory agencies. Gathers appropriate support internally to respond to audit and oversight requests.
  • Represents the agency as a compliance officer in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors the review cycle for all behavioral health licenses for the agency, including submission of all required information to ensure compliance.

Quality Assurance
  • Oversees and manages Quality Assurance processes and metrics designed to assess the effectiveness and quality of clinical services.
  • Identify areas for improvement and support department leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead efforts to maintain and enhance accreditation or certification from relevant bodies.
  • Coordinates with Senior Director of Clinical Operations on development of internal policies to support best practices and program compliance.

Organization Policies & Procedures
  • Oversee organization's policy and procedure program. Ensure the development, review, approval, distribution and tracking of P&Ps is performed on schedule.
  • Utilize and maintain the organizations policy management software (PowerDMS).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mental health, counseling, social work, healthcare management, business administration, public health).
  • Minimum 2 years' professional experience managing compliance, accreditation and/or Quality Assurance in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant laws.
  • Extremely detail oriented, highly organized and thorough.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, stakeholders, funders, and external partners.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Individuals in this position should be able to sit or stand for lengthy periods of time. Individuals will need to be able to wear a headset or earphones for calls and meetings. Individuals will need to manage several IT/software platforms at once and be able to function in an environment with moderate noise and distraction.

Requirements
Computer Skills Assessment: Crisis Connections requires a basic Computer Skills assessment to measure computer literacy and skills. The assessment is approximately 15 minutes in length, and timed. HR will provide a link to complete the test after screening qualified candidates.
  • This assessment will be completed on the candidate's personal computer. Upon request, candidates may take the assessment at one of our 2 office locations as an accommodation. Additional accommodations for the assessment are provided upon request.
