QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
Job Duties and Qualifications
- Understands and practices SQF, BRC, FSSC, and GFSI
- Inspect products, machinery, and packaging to ensure that they meet quality standards
- Understands the difference between Verification and Validation.
- Certified in creating and editing hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) plans for USDA Products.
- Certified in creating and editing FDA hazard analysis critical control point
- (HACCP) plans that require Preventative Controls (PCQI) to abide by Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Maintains continuous improvement either by documenting, creating, editing, introducing new equipment, collaborating and/or training
- Create tests for quality control of products
- Documents inspection outcomes
- Disassemble product parts to inspect them individually
- Supervises and mentors the Quality Assurance assistant
- Practices team management and team building within the department
- Monitors production operations to ensure conformance to company specifications
- Directs assembly adjustments to ensure operations reflect quality standards
- Ensures products meet customer expectations based on company objectives
- Communicates the results of inspections & suggests corrective actions
- Main point of contact during outside auditing
- Writes reports to document deficiencies and errors of products
Required Skills/Abilities
- HACCP, FSSC, and SQF Certifications
- Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques
- Proven experience as a quality control inspector in the same industry preferred
- Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong regard for Quality Assurance according to company standards
- Good knowledge about industry products and processes
- Excellent oral and communication skills
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills
- Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Excellence at counting individual or bulk ingredients or products in various weights and sizes
- Ability to pick up, drop off, or fix equipment or testing supplies with little to zero notice
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on your feet for most of the shift
- Good hygiene and appropriate apparel
- Able to pick up, carry and/or weigh up to 50 pounds
