Position Description

Saunders Conversion is seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will supervise the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with the production and sales teams to improve production process and create solutions that serve both Saunders Conversion and R.S. Hughes’ customers. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Key Competencies Required to be Successful as Quality Assurance Engineer

• Creates and implements production and business quality standards.
• Accomplishes Quality Assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing process, policies, and procedures.
• Trains and motivates employees to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Achieves Quality Assurance operational objectives by generating quality data and performing information analysis.
• Responsible for developing and implementing FMEA’s and PPAP’s, and DMAIC and NPI processes.
• Performs Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities.
• Responsible for developing procedures for Incoming Inspection, 1st Article Inspections (FAI), and In-Process Inspection, as well as Final Inspection.
• Ensures Quality Manual & Manufacturing Procedures are updated for continuous improvement and effectiveness.
• Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, and compliance audits.
• Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Education/Certification/Licenses

• Four-year college degree with a focus in Quality Assurance and/ or manufacturing (Required).

Skills That Will Make You Successful

• A minimum of 5-8 years of Manufacturing Quality Management experience working in a manufacturing and or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency with NPI, FMEA, DMAIC, PPAP’s.
• Process Capability (CPK) - Statistical Process Control
• ISO Audit / Internal Audits capabilities.
• Familiarity with 8D Problem Solving and Gage R&R.
• Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) proficiency.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and use of Fish Bone (Cause & Effect Diagram).
• Expertise in performing Risk Analysis & developing/ implementing Risk Mitigation solutions.
