Summary
The QA Coordinate Measure Machine (CMM) Inspector helps plan, program, and run CMM programs for final and in-process inspections. The CMM inspector also assists with a range of other QA tasks including estimating time required for potential inspection work, reviewing customer orders for flow-down of QA related requirements, FAI, testing support and verification of received products that may require non dimensional inspection methods prior to acceptance.
Responsibilities
Inspect intermediate machined parts, sheet metal parts, and assemblies using appropriate dimensional inspection techniques
Use all available inspection tools to include (but not limited to) CMM, Romer, laser scanner, optical comparator, and all manual inspection devices
Write and run CMM programs and accurately interpret the output
Perform FAI pre-planning on detail parts and sub-assemblies and complete FAI in accordance with AS9102
Advanced manual inspection and surface plate layout to include inspection of threads
Prove out/troubleshoot new part/product development
Other quality system support duties, as assigned
Requirements
Education, Skills and Certifications
Experienced with the full range of inspection tools including Coordinate Measuring Machine, Optical Comparator, Romer
Ability to write guidelines, and instructions
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems involving machined parts and assemblies
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and engineering instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Clear understanding of blueprint and engineering specification including high level understanding of GD&T and bench inspection tools
Advanced computer skills in programs such as PC-DMIS, Excel, Word, including macro development
2+ years of CMM Inspection experience
Experienced in CAD skills including ability to interpret Model Based Definition (MBD) engineering requirements and CAD based coordinate measurement system reporting

Base compensation range is $25-35 per hour, depending on experience
