Your Mission
As our Quality Assurance and ESD Technician, you will have 2 primary missions:
- Perform reliability, qualification, and incoming testing of flight hardware and support the calibration of testing equipment.
- Define, implement, execute, and control the ESD program across the production floor to ensure compliance of flight hardware and ground stations and equipment.
For both missions, you will liaise with the Production team, Planning team, Mission Support team, and the broader OPS organization to resolve any issue impeding the production of high-quality satellites with reliable hardware and in an ESD compliant environment.
Your Day-to-Day
50% of your time will be spent supporting the reliability and test lab. This includes:
- Supporting quality test lab activities which include peel, torque, tensile, shear, shore, and torsion testing.
- Writing reports that describe the testing performed.
- Notifying engineering and operations when any flight material has failed testing and drive issues to resolution.
- Performing required qualification and characterization testing on flight hardware.
- Performing required incoming testing and re-life testing of adhesives and epoxies.
- Managing the calibration of quality equipment in the reliability and test lab, final assembly line, and clean room as required.
50% of your time will be spent defining, implementing, executing, and controlling the ESD program across the production floor to ensure compliance of flight hardware and ground stations and equipment. This includes:
- Assuring company compliance with the ESD Program.
- Coordinating the calibration activities for all ESD equipment.
- Defining, implementing, and executing an ESD verification plan and schedule.
- Routinely monitoring ESD equipment (i.e. mats, grounding blocks, carts, flooring, stations, XGSE, etc.) using a variety of ESD measurement equipment.
- Ensuring all stations are compliant with the ESD standards. Installing and maintaining ESD monitoring equipment to current and new stations as needed in the FAL.
- Performing ESD audits to ensure compliance with procedures.
In both roles, you will:
- Provide technical updates to the FAL Training Manger as required.
- Provides reports to management as required.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Your Profile
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a highly technical production environment is required.
- Experience in quality and production processes is required.
- Experience with a production assembly environment is required.
- Prior aerospace and clean room working experience is recommended. Exposure to AS9100 standards in a plus.
- Experience using highly technical equipment or other industrial or manufacturing equipment is required.
- Certification as a Quality Technician is a plus.
- Ability to influence non-direct reports and peers to drive operational excellence by following 5s methodology.
- Proven highly organized and detail-oriented individual required.
- High level of attention to detail and utilize critical thinking.
- Highly motivated and self-driven.
- Ability to understand system requirements and specifications.
- Leadership skills and capability to work in close cooperation with other teams.

- Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system), JIRA, and MES is recommended.

- Capable of working on several projects of different complexity.
- Capable of working in an organized and ordered manner complying with the company AIT, EHS, and quality standards.
Reports to:
- This position reports to the Reliability and Test Lab Manager and it is located in Merritt Island, Florida.
Work Schedule:
- This is a 100% on-site role.
- This is a 1st shift role but the ability and willingness to work flexible hours (early/late) and weekends may be required to meet production goals.
