Job Outline
The Quality Assurance Operations Technician is primarily responsible for the oversight of company and customer quality standards.
Assigned personnel work under direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Director to conduct quality tests, perform inspection checks, and equipment calibration verifications.
The QA Operations Technician will be required to create, maintain, and complete required documentation to ensure and enforce compliance to 21 CFR 111.
Responsibilities
- Stay current with QA processes, including Good Documentation Practices
- Recommend improvements and/or enhancements of testing techniques and testing tools
- Ensure and enforce compliance with GMP, company, and other regulatory requirements
- Verify adequate sanitation and line clearances are obtained between product runs
- Effectively communicate results and issues to technical and non-technical team members, including immediate Supervisor
- Document all work in accordance with government regulations and company procedures
- Verify product, packaging materials, and labels meet all documented specifications
- Track and report label & bag usage, cases produced and investigate discrepancies
- Perform scale and weight suitability checks, along with other product measurements
- Perform ATP and environmental swabs per the Plant Environmental program
- Adhere to applicable cGMP regulation and standards while conducting work impacting GMP areas and documentation
- Perform analysis of sanitation and environmental and make sanitation recommendations to Management
- Maintain, conduct, and uphold audit readiness at all times
- Must follow company's food safety, operational, and food defense guidelines
- Complete annual food defense training and ensure food safety practices when entering production area
- Be a part of the Food Safety Team
- Verify weights and date code printing are within specifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong oral and written skills
- Advance knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Analytics software
- High school diploma or state equivalent, minimum of two years related trade schooling
