Brunswick believes "Next Never Rests," and we offer a variety of exciting careers and growth opportunities within united teams defining the future of marine recreation.Job Overview:The QC Service Writer Technician is responsible for performing the initial inspections, identifying all cosmetic defects, troubleshooting performance issues, and capturing data to refurbish boats in accordance with Boateka Quality standards.Key Responsibilities:* Responsible for mechanical boat initial inspection, diagnosing, identifying, capturing, and finding part replacements.* Prepare estimate documentation by recording stated problems, as well as parts and services required.* Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components, identifying part numbers required to replace or repair the issues.* Perform trade-in inspections.* Provide training to others on critical-to-quality product and process criteria.* Works on special projects geared towards product or process improvement.* Ability to perform independently as well as in a team role, possess good organizational skills and ability to follow instructions.* Actively participate in and work in a safe manner.* Work overtime as required.* May perform water testing on occasion* Other duties as assigned.Requirements:* High School Diploma or equivalent* Strong knowledge of marine 12-volt systems, with an emphasis on efficient troubleshooting / diagnosis.* Knowledge of marine engine operation and basic diagnostics.* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.* Must be able to read drawings and specifications.* Must have solid mechanical skills, utilize basic math and reading skills, ability to utilize hand and power tools.* Must have computer, math and reading proficiency and ability to use databases.* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.* Ability to operate a vehicle and tow a boat. Ability to operate a boat.* Manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to change with attention to detail.* Good working knowledge of MS Office suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..).* Knowledge in the use of computer diagnostic software for each engine manufacturer is a plus (Mercury G3, Candoo, Diacom, Etc.).* MMI certification preferred* Valid Driver's LicenseWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Shift: Must have the availability to work from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
