Your Role and Responsibilities
  • We are looking for skilled QA/Automation Engineer to join our IBM AIOps Insights Team. Our mission is to process and analyze an impressive volume of spans, traces, metrics, and events every second. This enables us to deliver actionable APM intelligence to our ever-growing customer community. As a QA/Automation Engineer in AIOps Insights, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our mission and the satisfaction of our customers. At IBM, you will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of.
    Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Work across development teams to deliver a high quality productDeveloping automation to simply build, deployment and test activities
    Creating and encouraging a culture of quality on the team and within the greater organization
    Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating QA efforts
    Establishing good practices for improving product quality
    implementing the automatic provisioning of infrastructure for test execution environments
    Performing code/design reviews/inspections
    Analyzing defects and performing root cause analysis

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 3-5 years experience with distributed application concepts and DevOps tools
  • 3-5 years experience in a QA position
  • min. 2 years experience with a major programming language like Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, C/C++
  • Understanding of version control systems ( Git, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
  • Experience with software build tools (Travis) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
  • Experience using testing frameworks
  • Experience applying autiomation to a continuous delievery processes
  • Experience working in an agile environments
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Experienced using frameworks
  • Able and eager to learn new languages, frameworks and tools
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • 3-5 years of active and recent Performance and Scalability engineering and/or Data Engineering experience with software performance optimization and tooling for measuring performance metrics from software modules as well as pipeline design and development
  • 3-5 years experience in a Performance Engineering position
  • min. 2 years experience with a major programming language like Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, C/C++
  • Understanding of version control systems ( Git, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
  • Experience with software build tools (Travis) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
  • Experience with performance assessment tooling and technologies such as JMeter, JConsole, and be able to develop custom tooling.
  • Knowledge and interest in computational statistics and data analysis
  • Experience using testing and automation frameworks
  • Experience applying autiomation to a continuous delievery processes
  • Experience working in an agile environments
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Experienced using frameworks
  • Able and eager to learn new languages, frameworks and tools
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
