This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX.
SUMMARY: Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions. Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
- Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
- Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability and documentation standards
- May be responsible for ensuring complaince with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001
- May also include responsibilities for:
- Review, analyzing , and report on quality data for trends and recommending changes to improve process and product quality
- Lead/Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's Degree or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and/or Experience
- 2-4 Years Prior Experience in a Quality Function
- Generate metrics and charts related to KPIs, Ppk, and Cpk values
- Technical Expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills. Problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred
- Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
