About the Role

A QA Engineer at Cover Genius is the foremost advocate of the culture of quality. Their primary responsibility is to promote a working environment where employees follow quality guidelines and consistently see others taking quality-focused actions, hear others talking about quality, and feel quality all around them.

As a QA Engineer in Cover Genius, you will be tasked with developing test frameworks - working closely with engineers to help implement best testing practices, ensuring our QA processes are robust and scalable.

A key team member integral to the product and service the technical teams deliver.

What will your day look like? You will...

Understand and reinforce the business value of the requirements of the company and project core goals of the products and services we offer
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create both API and UI automated test scripts Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet the company's objectives
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Monitor debugging process results
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

To help us level up, you'll ideally have:

4 years or more of full-time experience working as a QA or Test Engineer
Solid experience in Web or API automation testing - any programming language - and manual Web testing
Bonus points if you have experience in testing REST APIs
Must have good Web automation knowledge/experience using Selenium or Cypressor experience in general automation using any programming language - bonus points if you have coding experience with Python, JavaScript or PHP
Must have a decent understanding of HTTP protocol and client-server architecture
General solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Great requirement analysis and gap analysis skills
It is nice to have basic knowledge of SQL, Bash, Git and GitLab
Interest in working in a dynamic and "tech-first mindset" environment
Experience in exploratory testing is welcome
Comfortable with agile development such as Scrum or Kanban
Interest in learning or deepening technical/automation skills

Salary Range

The base salary range for this role is between $72,000 and $99,000. The total compensation package also includes equity, and the opportunity for additional earnings through our annual bonus or variable commission plans.
