ROLE SUMMARY
The QA Compliance Technician is responsible for the inspection of the cultivation process at all plant stages of life (Mothers, Clones, Vegetative and Flower) in efforts to assure quality and safety of products intended for consumers. The QA Technician is also responsible for ensuring all cannabis cultivated at the facility are properly tested in accordance with company guidelines and meet specifications prior to release.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure Quality Assurance for the cultivation department, including Quality Control, internal and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct visual inspections of cannabis plants to assess quality and/or detect the presence of pest or disease.
- Tracking plants that are transferred between departments and communicating risk exposures.
- Inspection of plants and audit growing records.
- Auditing cultivation records, plant inventory and entries documented QA logs, Bio Track and Sharepoint.
- Reviews in-process batch documentation to ensure real-time compliance to product specifications, good documentation practices and written policies and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and audits of training programs (work instructions).
- Assists in maintaining standards in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
- Responsible for maintaining department equipment and communicating inventory necessities.
- Updates job knowledge by studying trends within the industry and participating in educational opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience or similar experience
- Ability to analyze data and create and review processes.
- Prior experience in highly regulated industry preferred; healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), cannabis.
- Ability to follow written procedures and monitor others for adherence to written procedures.
- Possess the ability to manage many tasks and in an organized fashion.
- Able to communicate effectively with a variety of departments in regard to quality testing parameters.
SKILLS
- Must be a multitasker, with the ability to work on several requests simultaneously without losing focus
- Organization and initiative, proactive, problem-solving, time management, discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 2 years Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience or similar experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Experience in highly regulated industry preferred; healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food), cannabis.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Must pass a drug screening
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in cultivation environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The company will ask you to help in other departments depending on company needs. This means that you may not always work in the department that you were hired, teamwork and getting product out to patients is the goal and this means helping out where you are needed is crucial to your success as well as the company's success.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
