PV ROOF LEAD
Summary:
PV Roof Lead has 2 or more years of solar install experience. This is a roof work position for residential solar. PV Roof Lead is adhering to and ensuring that best practices are employed at all times on the roof. Position requires proper use of ladder, adhering to OSHA regulations, being a team player, employing leadership skills, is willing and able to teach, is comfortable with heights and being on a roof. Must possess basic hand and power tools needed for the job. Must be able to install according to Titan’s install standards while adhering to state regulations, local code and requirements, industry standards, safety protocols, and production targets. Requirements:
- Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
- Possess leadership skills with ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Experienced working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitive duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Have basic hand tools and power tools.
- 2 plus years of PV roof top install experience required.
- Full understanding of the PV roof install process and familiarity with all PV materials required.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest quality product possible.
- Reliability and an attitude of willingness are essential.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record is a plus.
- Able to travel as needed up to 30% of the time.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA certification a plus – Conscientious about safety, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Report daily to warehouse. Review plans and ensure all needed materials for roof are on cart/trailer.
- Know and understand how to read blueprints.
- Familiar with all PV materials used.
- Has full understanding of the PV Install process on the roof.
- Know and be willing to teach others how to bend EMT without causing roof damage.
- Know and be willing to teach others how to properly penetrate roof for solar attachments and always use proper roof sealing techniques.
- Take full responsibility of the quality of install on the roof as well as your teams work on the roof.
- Know and understand as well as be willing to teach others how to create layout changes onsite.
- Be willing to call in needed layout changes to our Design team while onsite.
- Understanding of roof types required with ability to spot and correct any possible causes of water intrusion on roof.
- Know and be willing to teach proper techniques for working on roof tops of all kinds without causing damage or safety hazards.
- Exercise social etiquette and ensure team is doing the same while on job site and treat home like it is your favorite relative’s house.
- Follow instructions as provided by the team Electrical Lead.
- Learn how to use our software to update jobs as need in Electrical Lead absence.
- Willing to learn electrical aspects of install and become cross trained to ensure daily productivity.
- Knowledge of or willing to learn local code and requirements as applied to PV solar installation.
- Customer service and communication skills needed. Ability to answer home owner questions as needed.
- Keep job site clean and leave job site clean daily.
- Maintain work vehicle as if it is your own. Remove trash daily.
- Complete safety trainings provided by Titan and actively practice safety throughout each day.
- Maintain assigned safety gear and report faulty equipment to safety as needed.
