We are looking for a customer-focused, driven, and friendly Purchasing Specialistto join our team!
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Review the quality of purchased products
- Ensure proper unpackaging and storage
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, etc.)
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, invoices and contracts
- Evaluate and compare vendors and negotiate prices
- Develop cost-reduction strategies and savings plans
- Continually source alternative products when the standard is not available
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Define processes and procedures for inventory, sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and maintaining MRO and packaging supplies
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
- Plan and forecast inventory requirements based on historical usage
- Open to assisting with additional tasks as required, including any other responsibilities assigned
Hours and Benefits
● Full-time, up to 40 hours per week
● Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm or 1Micro offers a flexible schedule between 6:00am to 7:00pm, potential hybrid remote/onsite opportunity
●Compensation starting at $65,000 including a full benefits package
Requirements/Qualifications
- Two (2) years of full-time work experience in purchasing and supply chain management or a closely related field
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience with ERP software, NetSuite preferred
- Knowledge of Bills of Material, ECO’s, production control, capacity planning, inventory control, and supply chain procedures
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, in Business related field, Supply Chain preferred
