Purchasing Specialist

We are looking for a customer-focused, driven, and friendly Purchasing Specialistto join our team!

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
• Review the quality of purchased products
• Ensure proper unpackaging and storage
• Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, etc.)
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, invoices and contracts
• Evaluate and compare vendors and negotiate prices
• Develop cost-reduction strategies and savings plans
• Continually source alternative products when the standard is not available
• Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
• Define processes and procedures for inventory, sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and maintaining MRO and packaging supplies
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
• Plan and forecast inventory requirements based on historical usage
• Open to assisting with additional tasks as required, including any other responsibilities assigned

Hours and Benefits

● Full-time, up to 40 hours per week

● Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm or 1Micro offers a flexible schedule between 6:00am to 7:00pm, potential hybrid remote/onsite opportunity

●Compensation starting at $65,000 including a full benefits package

Requirements/Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full-time work experience in purchasing and supply chain management or a closely related field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Experience with ERP software, NetSuite preferred
• Knowledge of Bills of Material, ECO’s, production control, capacity planning, inventory control, and supply chain procedures
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, in Business related field, Supply Chain preferred
