Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP) is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Management Intern to assist with mill procurement and storeroom operations starting in December 2023. This arrangement would be great for a student looking to work part-time during the school year. This individual will work closely with the senior buyer and storeroom analyst during the course of the internship.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in implementation of new Enterprise Management System Assist in data analytics for supply chain decisions Assist in implementation of new warehouse facility Track and develop EOQ, VMI systems Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop ordering strategies through placement of product orders Resolve internal customer and supplier disputes Reconcile receiving and invoice discrepancies Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication Assist with physical inventory Manage purchase order acknowledgements Create and implement SOP's and training documents Participate in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Purchasing meetings Participate/lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders Assist with other purchasing initiatives as required
QualificationsStudent working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently
Division DescriptionThe Green Bay Mill Division is a vertically integrated paper mill that manufactures containerboard using 100% recycled furnish. The operation consists of one paper machine responsible for the production of linerboard and medium paper used to manufacture corrugated boxes. This family-owned mill is located near the mouth of the Fox River in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
