Element is searching for a self-motivated , experienced scientist to lead the Metallurgy team.  This role will report directly to the General Manager, will involve direct laboratory work supporting data generation, and training of staff as well as oversight of projects and mentorship of team members.

 

Element is a world renown Aerospace Testing Company with clients such as Boeing, SpaceX and Blue Origin.

Salary: $100K-$150K/yr

 

Responsibilities

• Manage metallurgical Failure Analysis workloads and resources including personnel and equipment.
• Develop, motivate, and mentor Metallurgy & Failure Analyst team members.
• Assist in resolving technical issues with complex technical projects.
• Manage Metallury/Failure Analysis instrumentation.
• Maintain excellence in safety, health, and environmental practices.
• Manage multiple complex priorities with demanding time frames.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement both in technology and safety.

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:

• Bachelor degree in Metallurgy or related field with at least 10+ years of total experience.
• At least 5 years of direct people management experience.
• Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
• Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
• Demonstrated project execution, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
