Job Summary:

Sunik, an Akima Company, is searching for a Material Coordinator, Lead in Fort Carson, CO.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to predetermined schedules and priorities.
  • Keeps related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials.
  • Locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
  • Directs Power-Truck Operator or Material Handling Laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas,
  • Compare work ticket specifications with material at workstations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards.
  • Update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.
  • Works with depots to facilitate delivery of required parts for work orders.
  • Monitors estimated delivery dates on critical parts for work orders.
  • Works with local parts distributors to procure through local purchase process critical parts that will not be available from depots within the required time to complete the work orders.
  • Prepares Local Purchase request for parts not available from the supply system.
  • Work with Maintenance Team Leaders to determine requirements.
  • Expedite all high priority items and determines when shipping will not meet the required.
  • Responsible for establishment of sources and determining, this is more favorable to the government.
  • Issues and reviews written purchase orders for accuracy, form, content and appearance.
  • Responsible for submitting all supporting documentation within time standards.
  • Required to process Material Release Orders requiring certain actions to expedite too other buildings.
  • Required to monitor work performance and output of all Purchasers and PMO Material Coordinators on contract.
  • Audits and ensures the final purchasing request packets are complete, accurate and coded to correct charge code prior to the requested purchase being obligated against contractual funding.
  • Provides direction, guidance, and training to the Purchasers and PMO Material Coordinators via ASO policies, procedures, and Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) guidelines.
  • Updates, revises, and maintains the Local Purchasing procedures, work instructions, and forms associated with procurement.
  • Ensures the Local Purchasing Tracking Sheet is maintaining real-time data, that all documentation is completed on each purchase is in compliance and that funding levels are being reported up to the PCA for requests for additional funding.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of automated data systems and automated data system input required.
  • Associate degree in accounting, Business Administration or Finance or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess advanced skills and capabilities with Microsoft Office applications. FAR experience is desired.
  • Four years of purchasing and acquisition with leadership responsibilities and utilization of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Pay and Benefits:
  • $27.94 per hour, plus applicable Health & Welfare fringe dollars as defined under the DOL's Wage Determination.
