Class A Driver (Delivery and Material Yard)
POSITION SUMMARY AND DEFINITION:
Responsible for performing job duties following our company mission statement: “To provide a successful, safe, friendly and caring environment for all customers and co-workers by working and serving in a responsible and professional manner.”
Under the supervision of A Rising Star Equestrian Center (dba ARS Landscape Materials and Supply) owners. Participate and plan in the business operations of the facility including the purchasing and selling of aggregate, mulch and soil products.
Responsibilities including, but not limited to, product deliveries to our customers in the Denver Metro Area and loading material in customer trucks and/or trailers, stocking and sorting landscape material products. Ensure the smooth and professional process of business operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Loading and unloading of trucks for customer orders and deliveries. Collect delivery tickets from the office. Plan routes based on scheduled delivery time and location with GPS to minimize time and fuel consumption.
Ensure payment is collected and get signature from customer on delivery ticket.
Perform daily inspections on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment and tires, pre-trip and post trip duties and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
Safely and effectively drive trucks with capacities up to 85,000 lbs gross weight and comply with all DOT and company policies and regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Wear appropriate PPE as required.
Aggregate and mulch Material stocking and soil product mixing, screening and grinding.
Loading materials with loader into customer trucks or trailers
Assist with aggregate purchases and daily business functions as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Colorado Class A Drivers License required. Must have a clean driving record and pass a DOT drug test, alcohol test and physical.
· Knowledge and skill operating construction and farm equipment.
· Ability to communicate both effectively and professionally.
· Ability to effectively solve problems and make crucial decisions. Exhibit sound and accurate judgement.
· Knowledge and ability to perform repairs and maintenance on all trucks and yard equipment.
· Effective listening and follow-thought to complete tasks effectively and accurately.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical landscape material yard with ongoing possibility of associated safety risks.
· Constantly required to use hands to operate trucks, constriction equipment and tools.
· On occasion, required to remain seated for extended periods of time, with frequent walking, standing, or bending and exposure to outdoor Colorado weather.
· Lift 60 lbs and carry heavy equipment.
· Required to communicate effectively in person, over the phone and in writing.
· Exposure to occasional stress associated with completing tasks with interruptions.
· May occasionally be required to work long or non-traditional hours to fulfill facility needs, projects or special circumstances.
