Job Summary: The Purchasing Associate’s key responsibility is to manage inventory levels of all items in our Cleveland facility, and to schedule and procure a variety of equipment, materials, supplies and services. The Purchasing Associate is expected to provide cost-effective, and high-quality purchasing services, placing orders with suppliers and co-packers to maintain adequate inventory levels to support operational targets and production levels. This role must establish rapport with vendors while maintaining a positive, professional working relationship.

Job Responsibilities:

· Analyze inventory and plan purchase orders

· Generate and submit purchase orders to suppliers/vendors

· Track and maintain delivery dates

· Maintain spreadsheets in Excel

· Work with warehouse personnel in resolving product/inventory issues

· Validate and process invoices for payment

· Maintain strong working relationship with our vendors

· Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determine purchasing needs

· Stay up to date with industry trends

· Perform additional duties and projects as required by the business

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred

• 2+ years’ purchasing experience preferably in a food processing industry

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and invoices.

• Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and accounting software

• Strong customer service skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds. The employee must frequently use computer and other special operating equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
