Purchasing Associate - Accounting

Position Summary: As a Purchasing Associate, you will play a critical role in our procurement process, ensuring that our company has the necessary supplies, materials, and equipment to operate efficiently. This position is suitable for individuals with little to no prior experience in purchasing, as it primarily involves data entry, purchase order creation, and vendor management tasks. We will provide the necessary training to help you excel in this role. (No bottom line cost drivers required. Efficiency driver, and process standardization would equate to inherently better cash flow, receipt, and efficiency).
Key Responsibilities:Data Entry:

• Accurately enter and maintain purchasing data in our procurement systems.
• Keep records up-to-date and ensure data integrity.

Purchase Order Creation:

• Generate purchase orders based on inventory needs and requisitions.
• Verify purchase order accuracy, including item quantities, prices, and delivery details.

Vendor Management:

• Assist in maintaining relationships with existing vendors.
• Communicate with vendors regarding order status, lead times, and product availability.

Inventory Monitoring:

• Monitor stock levels and work with the team to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan for efficient inventory replenishment.

Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities.
• Provide insights and data to support procurement decisions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in business or related field is a plus).
• No-to-low experience in purchasing; training will be provided.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
