Your Mission:
As Public Relations Director, you will report to the VP, Brand Marketing, to amplify the voice and visibility of the Medidata brand through a strategic narrative leveraging customer testimonials and innovation.
Lead the global PR function, acting as the strategic advisor to executives and other internal stakeholders as it relates to media relations and external communications strategies
Create, set, and execute global PR strategy to support business goals
Manage PR agency in establishing an industry-best Public Relations organization for earned media including corporate initiatives, executive speaking engagements, and interview opportunities
Collaborate with subject matter experts in development of press releases, articles, and other relevant content
Proactively source newsworthy customer, product, and milestone stories
Analyze and report on campaign results and learnings
Maintain crisis management plan and act as the primary point of contact for related media inquiries
Establish and implement standard processes in partnership with cross functional teams including product teams, global counterparts, sales, legal etc. for efficient execution
Read, research, and stay abreast of relevant key industry themes, trends, and topics
- A strategic planner and storyteller who can synthesize large amount of information and distill key points clearly, succinctly, and quickly
- Extremely detail-oriented with superb writing and editing skills
- Leads with creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving mindset
- Proven ability in driving timely execution with strong sense of accountability
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Public Relations, journalism, communications, or related field
- 10-12 years of PR experience in PR agency or in-house corporate comms
- Experience in tech, life sciences industry, and/or clinical development area preferred
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
