The Community Health Services Division is seeking Public Health Nurses to join its two evidence-based home visitation programs: Family Connects & Healthy Families. Our Family Connects Universal Home Visiting Program aims to support to parents following the birth of a new child by providing a three-week postpartum home visit to families who live in Lancaster County.
Our Healthy Families Home Visiting Program also aims to support families starting prenatally or at birth through more intensive, long-term Home Visiting allowing participants to receive visits for 3-5yrs. Responsibilities include completing designated assessments of mother, baby and the family's health, identifying needs and strengths, providing teaching and education, providing support and advocacy and providing referrals as needed.
It is beneficial to have experience working with post-partum women, infants, diverse populations, & families with multiple needs. Must be willing to advocate for a positive, and nurturing home environment.
Qualifications: Requires graduation from a baccalaureate degree nursing program accredited by the National League of Nursing.
Necessary Specialist Requirements: Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska. Possession of a valid driver's license.
To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
