The Disease, Control, and Prevention (DCAP) Program in Washington County's Public Health Division is seeking two Limited Duration Public Health Nurse II's for their Communicable Disease (CD) team!

About the Department
The Communicable Disease team is responsible for monitoring disease trends, controlling and containing the spread of diseases, and providing crucial information and education to doctors, hospitals, community partners, and the public. The Public Health Nurses and other Public Health staff work hard to protect the residents of Washington County who are affected by infectious diseases and ensure that the most vulnerable are well cared for.
About the Position

They provide education, monitoring, and measures to control or prevent the further spread of the disease. This limited-duration position will focus mainly on managing respiratory and other outbreaks in shared living spaces, conducting some case investigations, and responding to any urgent situations as required. The position will involve mainly phone and computer-based tasks, but there may be occasions when the position holder will need to perform in-person activities, such as specimen collection, medication preparation and dispensing, and vaccinations. This position offers the option of working remotely, in an office, or a combination of both, with regular working hours.
Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have nursing experience in Public Health and managing Communicable Disease outbreaks and other infectious disease work. This position requires both independence and the ability to work well with a team. We are looking for someone who is accountable, conscientious and has excellent communication skills.
