Job description

Position Title: Public Area Attendant Supervisor

Job Summary: Responsible for coordinating and performing club facility housekeeping needs and directly supervising all daily housekeeping services for club facilities, public, and staff areas. Works directly with the facility management, facilities maintenance, and PUBLIC AREA ATTENDANT teams to ensure the highest standards of sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics are provided. Assists Director of Facilities with hiring, training, and evaluation of staff. Creates and manages housekeeping schedule. Manage, enforce, and approve timekeeping standards through payroll system. Inspects housekeeping personnel work assignments and requisition supplies.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Management of Personnel

  • Performs cleaning of assigned areas
  • Supervises all housekeeping employees.
  • Directs and supervise cleaning of assigned areas.
  • Assist in planning the janitorial work of club facilities and distributes assignments accordingly.
  • Assigns regular and special duties to porters.
  • Schedule self and employees assigned days off according to business needs.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of housekeeping staff.
  • Reviews and approves the daily and weekly porter work assignment checklists.
  • Create daily and weekly forecasts for cleaning schedule of housekeeping staff.
  • Coordinates housekeeping needs with facility managers and makes recommendations regarding work to be performed.
  • Assist Director of Facilities Maintenance with reviewing and monitoring the facility housekeeping budgets.
  • Assures housekeeping staff is properly trained.
  • Complete timecard approvals for payroll processing.
  • Creates schedules two weeks in advance and post for viewing.
  • Post daily work assignments one week in advance that take the budget into account.
  • Coordinates housekeeping department Human Resource functions such as paperwork, interviewing, hiring, payroll, reviews, etc.
  • Participates in on-going evaluation programs to ensure that all club areas meet cleanliness, safety, and other standards.
  • Attends facility team meetings as required.

Inventory and Quality Control

  • Perform quality inspections to verify quality clean standards.
  • Maintain a current inventory listing for all janitorial supplies.
  • Ensure housekeeping supplies are organized on a daily basis.
  • Order cleaning supplies/inventory for cleaning.
  • Distribute necessary supplies to housekeeping.
  • Maintain a purchase order system and verify all receipts of orders against PO.
  • Verify all vendor bills and approve for payment.
  • Maintain an on-going missing times log and replace.
  • Complete a monthly inventory count to verify balances.
  • Maintain current MSDS sheets from vendors for products in use.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks, not specifically addressed above.

Reports to: Director of Facilities Maintenance

Supervises: Public Area Attendants, Porters.

Education/Experience: Previous housekeeping experience required. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous computer experience, typing skills required. Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated. Must have excellent organization skills.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English and Spanish in order to direct and assure safe work environment for staff. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required. Must have knowledge of Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.

Certificates/Licenses/Safety Training: Valid California or Nevada Drivers License and current auto insurance. Supervisor Harassment Prevention Training within 30 days of hire. Bloodborne Pathogen Training, Heat Illness Prevention, Other training as determined by management team.
