POSITION: Public Affairs Strategist
DEPARTMENT: Public Affairs
SALARY: $65,977.60 - $76,000.00 per year
LEVEL: L25

We are the Orlando International Airport! The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) operates OIA and the Orlando Executive Airport. POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop, create, and write message points forspecial events and presentations for executive staff. Work closely with all GreaterOrlando Aviation Authority's (GOAA) departments to coordinate accurate andconsistent messaging. Stay current with changing communication strategies,methods and technologies. Assist in capturing key events, including GOAA Boardmeetings, through video and support the audio/visual team with meeting set-ups.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Journalism or related field, and four (4) years experience in communications,marketing or public relations, preferably in an airport environment, or anequivalent combination of education, training and experience. Some on-air newsreporter experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, methods and techniques, and skill in applying them to oral and written communications, in order to develop strategies; and disseminate information concerning organization programs, activities and functions.
  • Creative skills to design, develop, create and edit content, including writing, photography, videography, graphic designs, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with Authority staff and partners
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft programs, and other media platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Must be fluent in English - Bilingual/Spanish a plus.
  • Detail oriented, excellent research and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret trends and performance measurements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, schedule and meet deadlines
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends as required to accommodate events for employees with various shifts
