Summary:
Under limited supervision will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing trucks and trailers. Repairs will include preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air hydraulic brake repairs, driveline, steering and suspension, electrical trouble shooting. Doing preventive maintenance of surface testing equipment, flare stacks, fluid tanks, and generators.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and repairs problems in the areas including all external component replacements and routine repairs, perform annual vehicle inspections, perform preventative maintenance, brake jobs, lighting repairs, cab repairs, king pin replacements, steering problems diagnoses/repair, drive train component diagnosis and replacement, suspension diagnosis and repair
- Perform starting and charging system diagnosis; diagnosis and repairs, routing electrical diagnosis and repair
- Perform hydraulic pump/electric generator diagnosis and repairs
- Perform fabrication functions, welding, cutting and plumbing soldering
- Utilizes parts diagrams, computer and other resources to research problems, identify and locate parts
- Communicates well with internal customers on equipment availability, repair time estimates, troubleshooting and status updates
- Responsibilities will include DOT inspections, rebuilds and replacements evaluating options to make values and safety decisions in the operation and repairs the fleet of equipment.
- The repair and maintenance of fleet of truck, trailers and loaders
- Complete work orders must be filed out on every repair
- Position requires booth day and night work – on call
- Most of the work occurs at our District shop but field work is also required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in repair and maintenance of trucks and other heavy equipment; brands include Case, Cat, John Deere as well as many others; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Vocational training preferred
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to maintain an acceptable driving record in line with TETRA requirements and possess a clean driving record
