Position Summary
Position Summary: The Associate Faculty - Willcox Center is responsible for providing an invaluable service to the College and our students by providing instruction of various subjects and related courses for majors and non-majors district-wide. Instruction is provided via a variety of media, including face-to-face courses, blended learning, and online throughout Cochise County and our entire services area.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environment
Develops, prepares and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses and plans for students' educational and social needs
Collaborates with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvement
Maintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department
Resolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College official
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Education and Experience requirements vary by subject area and course. Instructors must meet credential requirements in accordance with the Higher Learning Commission and are outlined in the college's Faculty Credential Guide.
Agriculture- Bachelor's or higher degree in Agriculture Science, Plant/Crop Science, or Agriculture related area or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in agriculture related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Drawing - Master's degree in Fine Arts or Art with an emphasis in 2-dimensional art or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in 2-dimensional art from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Biology- Master's degree in Biology, Ecology or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Biology, Ecology from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Chemistry - Master's degree in Chemistry or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Computer Science - Bachelor's or higher degree in a computer-related area or an Associate's degree in a computer-related area and 3 yrs of related industry experience or relevant industry certifications
Mathematics - Master's degree in Mathematics or Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
Developmental Mathematics - Bachelor's or higher degree in Math, Math Education, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a Bachelor's degree in any area and 2 years of teaching experience and a state teaching certificate for secondary math
Music - Master's degree in Music or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours of Music from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
American Sign Language - Master's degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies or any Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in American Sign Language or Deaf Studies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of research-based adult learning principles
Knowledge of trends, developments, and new technologies affecting education
Knowledge of developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional approaches
Skill in using authentic assessment to evaluate students' needs and progress
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
Ability to analyze problems, identifies solutions, and takes appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment:Work is primarily performed under limited supervision in a typical classroom, laboratory, office, or online setting with appropriate climate controls. Evening or weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, fine and large motor skills, ability to communicate. May require travel, working evenings and weekends.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
