In This role you will:
The Psychosocial/Community Rehabilitation Specialists aids to restore, rehabilitate, and support services for a child/youth, which are developmentally appropriate as necessary for their integration as an active and productive member of his or her family and community with the goal of achieving minimal on-going professional intervention.
Essential Functions:
- Work with children and adolescents in their home and community environments providing rehabilitation interventions and individualized, collaborative, hands-on training to build developmentally appropriate skills.
- Aid with social and interpersonal skills promoting coping strategies and effective functioning in the child/youth’s social environment.
- Improve self-management of the negative effects of symptoms that interfere with a young person’s daily living and support the development of day-to-day competencies and routines necessary to remain in the home, school, work, or community.
- Work to re-establish social skills (interpersonal relationships, conversation and communication, social etiquette, and anger management) and re-achieve developmentally appropriate functioning.
- Documents all services provided both timely and accurately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in children’s mental health, addiction and/or foster care.
- Ability to work amongst diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
- Good written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and have some knowledge with using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Excellent time management skill
