Must have one of the following licenses: LVN, RN or BSN, Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred but not required.
Takes and records patient's vital signs and required assessments. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge. Performs med checks, administers specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection, and notes time and amount on patient's charts, and other duties as needed. Keeps work area clean, stocked, and reorders before exhausting supply. Manages incoming phone calls from patients, refill medications, and complete paperwork required for prior authorizations. The nurse will work directly with medication assistance staff to provide medication monitoring for state funded medications.
