Job Description
- Prepares charts for upcoming visits and ensures all necessary forms are completed, reviewed, and accepted into patient’s chart
- Greets and rooms patients
- Performs delegated medical tasks and procedures:
- Captures vitals, medical history, reason for visit, and documents in patient medical record
- Performs visual acuity screening as part of a routine physical
- Administers injections
- Assists provider with procedures
- Performs blood draws, collects specimens, performs urine drug screening, and communicates results
- Cleans exam rooms between appointments
- Stocks exam rooms with required inventory and disposes of expired supplies and biohazard waste
- Troubleshoots patient issues with assigned provider
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Completion of Medical Assistant certificate or CAAHEP accredited program
- Medical Assistant or AA degree in health-related field preferred
- Six months of healthcare experience preferred
- Valid and current CPR, First Aid Certification, and an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Denova will assist with Fingerprint Clearance Card upon accepted offer.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of, and ability to use electronic record keeping systems (EMR, billing software, insurance carrier portals, spreadsheets, etc.) preferred
- Bilingual a plus, not required
