POSITION SUMMARYThe Provisional Clinical Psychologist improves the health status of our market’s medically underserved population by providing superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service and care in mental health. This position is responsible for providing patient care in mental health and initiating the process for successfully integrated mental health services.
GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSProvisionally Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from an educational institution accepted by the Florida Board of Psychology.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS- Clear and Active Florida Provisional Psychologist License as mandated by the Florida Board of Psychology
- 5+ years of working experience in Psychology, Psychiatry, or Mental Health services
- Work experience and training in integrated primary care
- Commitment to working in a challenging, fast-paced, and rewarding position using the primary care behavioral health model to deliver population-based health care
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities related to behavioral medicine and evidence-based interventions for mental health including Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing
- Experience and interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
- Excellent collaboration skills required for community relationship building
- Knowledge of psycho-pharmacology
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance
- Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic mental and behavioral conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions
- Proficiency in using an Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Record software
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work alongside pediatric and family practice providers; assist with diagnosis and treatment plan to improve patient functioning
- Provide consults in real time and be available as needed to the team
- Provide prevention and intervention groups for high frequency patient problems
- Provide screening, initial assessment, referral, and provision of brief individual and group treatment
- Maintain predetermined productivity of individual and group interventions
- Collaborate with Providers, Community Resource Specialists and the Nursing team to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on social work experience and patient needs
- Educate patients and community members about mental and physical illness, abuse, medication, and available community resources
- Maintain accurate records of treatment in the patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and follow up with patients in order to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling or treatments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
