Now Hiring a Licensed Clinical Child and/or School  Psychologists!

Are you a psychologist who loves working with children and families? Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to have a say in how much money you earn?  Do you get excited about the idea of working in a collaborative practice that offers terrific flexibility?  If so, read on…

Here’s the 30,000-foot view of the job…

As a clinician with Rice Psychology Group (RPG), you’ll conduct new patient intakes, decide on the best approach for treatment and provide therapy suited to patient needs and your expertise. You’ll get a chance to work with children, teens and correspond with parents, other providers and schools. We have strong relationships in the community and have a steady stream of child, teen and family referrals looking for therapy.

At RPG you’ll have the opportunity to build up to a full caseload in your first year. You will directly impact the healing of families and individuals in our community — while simultaneously developing your personal brand as a foremost expert in your niche. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure what your niche is just yet. We will help you figure it out.

Who are we?

Rice Psychology Group offers top-of-the-line therapy and assessment services that combine evidence-based practices with practical approaches. We have a stellar reputation for high-quality care. When families are ready for the best therapy and testing for their children, they come to Rice Psychology Group.

Currently, the RPG team is home to five licensed psychologists, two licensed mental health counselors, and two wonderful administrators. Our workplace is team-focused and supportive, with scheduled opportunities for individual supervision, consultation, skill development and discussion.

If you join our team, you’ll find yourself with…

  • Great administrative support: Our highly experienced administrative staff ensures our offices run like clockwork. They handle referrals and work in tandem with you to facilitate best fit intakes, scheduling, billing and so much more.

  • A strong community network: You’ll benefit from our strong relationships with schools, pediatricians, psychiatrist and neurologists, families and leaders in the Tampa Bay community. Add in our strong online presence and SEO skills, and the result is a solid foundation for you to rapidly develop a caseload that suits your skills and interests.

  • A respected reputation and worry-free marketing: Dr. Wendy Rice is regularly featured on news outlets as one of the leading experts in child psychology in Tampa. We are continuously reaching out in innovative ways to speak to potential clients with our well-established social media profiles, extensive video channels, and practical blog posts. RPG has already built a great platform for you to use as you impact the lives of current and potential clients.

  • Comfortable office spaces: Our two offices, in North and South Tampa, are stylish and fully furnished, and beautifully set up for your needs.  We are conveniently located near several private and public schools, and just a few minutes from I-4, 275, and downtown. Other comforts include our therapy dog, Milo and Marty McDoodle, as well as  specialty coffee, teas, and other refreshments.

  • Perks that improve your work life and your self-care practice:  We offer direct deposit every 2 weeks and handle all aspects of payroll. One of the most coveted aspects of this job is the flexible. And after your first year with RPG, we offer a matching retirement plan.  We also offer a stipend to put toward continuing education and provide all the supplies you need to do your best work and have fun doing it!

What will you do in this role?

1. Work up to a 25 hour per week billable caseload in your first year using our extensive community referral network and taking on existing RPG clients.

2. Be on your patients’ team from day one by conducting new patient intakes. An intake includes clear notes, impressions and initial treatment targets/goals. For minors, we usually do a parent intake first followed by a child session and then formalize our plan in partnership with the family.

3. Create dynamic treatment plans for clients and their families. Communicate the benchmarks and timeline of the plan clearly and concisely, so everyone is on the same page.

4. Provide individual and family therapywith compassion, ingenuity, and confidence. We want a therapist who is not afraid to innovate, research, and work with patients to offer the best fit therapy-wise.

5. Conduct an array of psychological assessmentsas needed and write clear and concise evaluation reports. We’re always looking for psychologists with a knack for testing, meaning there’s opportunity for growth in this area if it speaks to you!

6. Develop strong relationships with potential and current clients by engaging with our Tampa community. We already have a great community network in place; use it to build a great reputation for yourself.

7. Build good working relationships with our other team members. We believe good treatment benefits from a solid foundation of teamwork. Consult with other clinicians to work through problems, offer insight, and work collaboratively on cases with heightened risk levels.

8. Stay on the cutting edge with technology. We work cwith Zoom, Therasoft Online, Microsoft Office for Business 365, GoZen and online testing platforms such as Q-Global, MHS, Riverside Score (WJ), Par iConnect, and WPS online. Familiarity or willingness to learn is a definite asset!

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Strong credentials: You must have a Florida Psychology license or be Florida license-eligible.  We will consider post-docs.

  • Experience and interest: You are familiar and comfortable with working with school-aged children and teenagers and their families. We’d be thrilled if you’re experienced with any of the following therapy modalities: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),Family Therapy,  Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and/or treating trauma.

  • A flexible schedule. All of our therapists work two evenings a week and most opt not to work weekends, but you can typically organize your schedule in a way that is convenient for both you and your clients.

  • A commitment to your practice. We're looking for someone who will stay on with us to take full advantage of our leadership track and the opportunity to learn from their fellow RPG colleagues.
