Property Accountant

The role of the Property Accountant involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. Their role is to review and report financial information, manage cash flow and reconcile bank accounts, review and process all invoices for payment. The Property Accountant position also highlights the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.

• “Own” all activities associated with the properties assigned.

• Be the main contact for the Property Manager and Regional Manager on any accounting issues for the properties assigned.

• Accurately review and code vendor invoices for managed sites as needed.

• Accurately review all site invoice entries for required dating, descriptions & GL daily.

• Monthly Review of recurring expenses for all sites assigned.

• Set-up and manage vendors for assigned properties. Including, but not limited to entering and maintaining W-9, Insurance and set-up information.

• Maintain the General Ledger for accuracy. Ensure recurring entries for accruals are posted properly. Perform re-class entries as needed.

• Review Balance Sheet to ensure mortgage and escrow balances are reconciled monthly.

• Audit Bank Deposits to look for any irregularities.

• Vendor AP inquiries and research projects as needed or requested.

• 1099 Verification process and assist with annual mailing as requested.

• Issue monthly FAS payments for properties assigned.

• Monitor cash and reconcile bank accounts for assigned properties.

• Monitor and reconcile any Apartment Dynamics escrow accounts for assigned properties.

• Assist Director of Strategic Operations with any water sub-metering issues as requested.

• Process monthly Due To/Due From balances for assigned properties.

• Reconcile Security Deposit Accounts to liability monthly for assigned properties.

• Assist Regional Managers with budget preparations for assigned properties.

• Assist with any financial reports or research as requested.

• Process and submit Escheat payments as required for assigned properties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
