Position Objective:

Assist in coordinating activities and requirements of crating and shipping departments, production areas, customer service, and carriers to ensure the outbound freight is shipped in the most timely and economic manner to meet customer constraints. Fulfills customer orders.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Selects parts or filters to fulfill customer orders and prepares outgoing shipments, which may include crating, palletizing or boxing.
  • Manage the international requirements for crating and tracking of heat treated wood.
  • Stocks inventory in the appropriate location for quick and easy retrieval.
  • Assists in monitoring control systems for quality, warehousing, receiving and shipping.
  • Assists in developing and recommending improvements to promote efficiency, faster service and lower costs.
  • Operates various types of vehicles such as forklifts, trucks, etc.
  • Prepares and maintains shipping records, makes up bills of lading and posts weight and shipping charges and other documentation for shipping of materials, parts, finished goods and related items.
  • Inspects incoming orders to verify type, quantity, and condition against orders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

Position Requirements:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma / GED

· 2 years related experience in shipping/receiving.

· Must be proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word

· Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.

· Ability to self-start and work without close supervision, understanding what needs to be done and taking the required actions to maintain production

· Demonstrated ability to multi – task and work in a fast – paced manufacturing environment.


Special Skills:

  • Excellent work ethic and a positive professional attitude
  • Must have a working knowledge of warehouse
  • Working knowledge of SAP or MRP systems required

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software; Oracle accounting software; Oracle inventory software and Oracle manufacturing software.
